My only actual Gundam purchase from Hobby Town before it closed was the HG Unicorn Gundam Unicorn Mode model. The prices at Hobby Town had a ridiculous markup, but the Unicorn Mode went on sale for $25 for some reason that I couldn't figure out, so I bought it.
In the HG scale, the Unicorn Gundam doesn't transform, so the Unicorn Mode and Destroy Mode come in separate models. I think the MG scale Unicorn can actually transform, but I am not positive.
The Unicorn Mode includes a trigger finger hand in the right, an open hand in the left, and a hand for holding for both. It includes a bazooka and 2 beam saber beams. It's the first kit I used model cement on because the horn would not stay in.
Then, at Christmas time just past, the Destroy Mode kit went on sale on Amazon for $18, and my brother's family bought it for me as a gift. The Destroy Mode only includes a rifle and the four storage sabers but no beams. It also only includes one trigger finger right hand and two closed hands. Since I set up the Unicorn Mode with the bazooka, I used the holding right hand, open left hand and saber beam from the Unicorn Mode on my Destroy Mode kit!
The action base is a 2 to 3 model stand reproduction from AliX of a no-longer-available Bandai base.
TL; DR:
Unicorn Gundam doesn't transform, so buy both Unicorn and Destroy Mode kits!
